Reflections Organics Media Launch & Review
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH 2017 REFLECTIONS ORGANICS
No one does organic, high performance, affordable makeup quite like Reflections Organics. I was so pleased to be introduced to this brand in January, during their media event. A little background to the brand; it’s actually founded by a Singaporean! I’m thrilled to meet a local entrepreneur, furthermore, it’s always a joy to hear them talk about their journey and what inspired them.
The founder of Reflections Organics, Nerissa Low, spoke to us about how the importance of using safe, clean, and natural products. After all, what goes on your skin will get absorbed into your body so it you don’t want toxic chemicals being absorbed right? With our skin being the largest organ of our body, can you imagine how much product is getting absorbed daily?? At Reflections Organics, their motto is to provide authentic organic makeup with a wide range of colours at an affordable price.
At the event, I was able to see the entire makeup collection and the pressed eyeshadows immediately caught my attention. One colour that I fell in love instantly with was Purple Sapphire which is a gorgeous plum with shimmer. I’m happy to say that it had good pigmentation with a smooth texture that was just slightly dry in the pan, but it blended out without much of an issue. Some photos with my lovely blogger friends. I’m the one in red.
In my press kit, I received the lip butter in Frosted Plum ($42 SGD / $30 USD), which I’ve been using a lot lately. It feels lightweight and moisturizing on the lips, plus the colour is gorgeous for everyday wear. It’s a pretty rosy plum with shimmer. True to it’s name, there is a slight frost to the color, but nothing too metallic looking. One swipe gives off opaque color coverage with a creamy, very smooth consistency. On me, it lasted for about five hours. The only con to this lipstick would be the packaging. I found that the lipstick seems to be able to move around when the cap is closed and if you’re not careful, the lipstick could end up all over the inside of the cap. But it’s worth noting that I’ve not had any issues of the cap coming off.
Another product I got to try was the liquid liner ($42 SGD / $30 USD) in Black Onx. Ok, this liquid liner blew me away. The ultra long-lasting, 100% smudge-proof claims are no joke! This liner will remain on your eyes all day until you are ready to remove it. You don’t have to worry about looking like a panda with this. This is also made of 70% organic ingredients with no artificial fragrances and harsh chemicals, completely gluten-free and cruelty-free. How is that not winning? So much love for this!
The last makeup product in my press kit was the Camouflage Cream ($42 SGD / $30 USD) in Magic. This is made of good stuff such as Vitamin E, organic coconut, cocoa seed butter, castor seed, and jojoba seed oil. Unfortunately, the shade range is a bit limited (5 shades), and Magic didn’t suit my skin tone. However, I was able to play around with it and I adore how it gave a great amount of coverage without being too dry or heavy. I will be honest though, I don’t have acne scars to conceal so I don’t know how well it’ll cover scars. But it covers my small veins pretty darn well!
Here are the swatches of the three products. The first swatch of the lip butter is after multiple swipes, the second swatch is after only one swipe.I was pleasantly surprised to see some snacks included in my press kit as well. Puvay’s Chia Lite is a 100% natural, fruit-puree based drink that is specially formulated with high amount of organic whole chia seeds, prebiotic chicory root extract, together with natural polysaccharides. I enjoyed the passion-fruit with mango flavour and love how it’s without artificial flavourings, colourings, sweeteners, or preservatives. Also included was some chocolate popcorn from Boxgreen. The popcorn was packaged in a small packet so you won’t feel guilty snacking on it. In addition, it wasn’t too sweet which I like.

Event: Reflections Organics Makeup Media Launch + PROMO CODE
February 5, 2017 by Zoe
Hi ladies, I’m really excited to share my experience at the Reflections Organics media launch with you. I have fallen in love with the brand after getting my first peek at its long line of organic makeup; and the fact that it is homegrown makes it even sweeter.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s always a misapprehension that organic products may not be long-lasting, or even provide the desired results. For me, this is particularly true for organic skincare as I still can’t get used to using foodstuff on my body!
I was very keen to find out if Reflections managed to create makeup that has legitimate texture, colour, and a reliability that will make me reach out for it time and again.
Venue: PICNIC Wisma Atria
The media launch was held at PICNIC at Wisma Atria, a gorgeous garden-themed food hall that houses 13 stalls of various cuisines. As it was a private event, food was served buffet-style. The selections came in very large portions and sadly I had to give the cakes a miss after having salad, a sandwich and a very filling bowl of warm soup!
Reflections offers a diverse range of organic makeup
It is incredible that such high quality make up are fashioned from organic produce with NO SYNTHETIC CHEMICALS. The colours are extremely pigmented, smooth, and suitable even for professional makeup artistry. No GMOs, zero nano-particles, and cruelty-free, Reflections is as organic as you can get; the brand even makes sure to use soy-based inks on its packaging!
I was amazed by the sheer number of products ranging from Powder Foundations, BB Creams, Sun-Protection Powder, Eyeshadows, Eye Liner, to Lip Butters and Glazes. The shades of BB creams and foundations also come in natural to dark shades to match women of all skin tones.
We were treated to a makeup demonstration, and it was my first time seeing a pregnant lady as model, but it just goes to show that Reflections Organics is safe enough to use on anyone. No worries of harmful chemicals being absorbed into the bloodstream. It is also awesome to know that it’s possible to complete an entire make up look using only Reflections products.
Lovely Fringe Activity – Floral Mandala DreamcatcherThis was one of the most interesting fringe activity to be conducted at an event, and I think for many of us it was the first time we’ve ever heard of a Flower Mandala Dreamcatcher! Kudos to the organisers as we were all ecstatic to get crafty and bring home something so pretty.
We had to arrange dried petals and leaves within an embroidery hoop, using sticky plastic to hold them in place. I decided not to think so much and just go with the flow with the placement of the petals.
This is how it looks after securing and tidying up the sticky plastic. It’s now hanging on my wall. :)
Coveted products!!We went home with a surprise media pack! Thank you Reflections Organics for being so generous. I received the Camouflage Cream, Liquid Liner, and Lip Butter in Sweet Plum. If you would like to see a mini makeup tutorial using these products, do stay tuned! :)

Makeup for the Soul: Reflections Organics Thoughts + Review
January 25, 2017 Perin Sidhu
I love discovering new brands -add organic and natural to the list. Over the years, I have started to pay more attention to the ingredients list of beauty products. The conscious effort in doing so has allowed me to save on products, which could have potentially caused my skin to flare up. This is the very reason why organic makeup brands capture my attention.
If I could list 3 reasons why you should consider trying organic beauty products, they would be the following:
- Organic makeup products are formulated with skin-loving ingredients (e.g. minerals). Overtime, the products help to improve your skin (despite using them for the intended use of being makeup).
- No harsh chemicals are used making it a great choice for sensitive skin.
- Contrary to popular belief, organic beauty products do pack a punch in the pigmentation department and you should be able to find a variety of products these days
One such Organic beauty heaven I’ve come across recently is a local Singapore brand, Reflections Organics. I recall coming across their Instagram page (on the explore page) late last year and was impressed with the content they were putting out (love it when brands include a personal touch). The brand believes that “beauty is from the inside out…. women should always see how truly beautiful and powerful they are, and not be subject to society’s definition of beauty.” – Now that is something I resonate with.
Many a times, we are categorized according to our looks. While that it often passed off as human nature, it should never define us. Hearing Reflections Organics founder, Nerissa Low share about her struggles with common beauty woes such as Acne, I felt as though much thought has been put into the products (with regards to its formulation) -and I was right. It did not take me much time to jump on board the organic makeup bandwagon since I am a big fan of organic skincare. I was invited to the brands’ recent launch party and had the opportunity to try/swatch/admire the products first-hand.
If you’re on my Instagram page, you would have seen sneak peeks via Instagram stories. Since then, I have been putting three of the brand’s products to use and here are my thoughts:
PRESSED MINERAL FOUNDATION – FLAWLESS, USD55
First up, let us talk about one of the many base products the brand carries – Reflections Organics Pressed Mineral Foundation. Marketed as a mineral foundation, this product has been formulated with natural minerals and does not contain any pore-clogging ingredients. This is certainly a refreshing change in Singapore’s weather.
The packaging is rather fuss-free – a transparent box with the product showing through clearly. I particularly like how simple the packaging is. Coming to the product proper, the powder provides light-medium coverage and is definitely build-able especially when used with a sponge or buffing brush. As the products were given out at random during the event, this is definitely not the perfect shade as it is one – 1.5 shade lighter. However, I am still able to make it work by warming up my face with bronzer. I have used it both as a foundation and setting powder (placed over top my tinted moisturizer) and love the finish of both.
At the end of the 6-hour mark, I do find myself having to check if I need a touch up. A spritz of rose water/ Fix + or any makeup setting spray helps to revive the look and prolong the wear of the product. Overall, this is a great product for anyone wishing to complete their base routine under 2 minutes. To increase the level coverage, simply use it over a lightweight foundation. The scent of the product is reminiscent of chocolate cake batter.
Coming to the price point (yes I do agree that it is a little steep), if you are looking to splurge on a powder foundation, this would be it. The ingredients are friendly for the skin. Personally, I feel that you are getting twice the amount of powder in this product as compared to a drugstore powder. The math works out to be the same, just the investment comes earlier.
MINERAL EYESHADOW – AMETHYST, USD28
An eye shadow junkie like me can’t possible stay away from eye shadows for long. I am always looking out for unique shades. Amethyst is just that, at least in my collection. From cool and warm toned to glitter purples, you name it and they are in my collection. If there were a shade missing, it would be Amethyst. I just never considered such a shade. We are taking eggplant purple with a hint of grey. I am sure you would be able to find such a shade in many conventional palettes but I am glad to be having it in a loose pigment form.
Such a shade draws mystery to the eyes and I love using loose pigments in this case as it helps me to create a diffused look with much ease. The mineral eye shadows are much sheerer in pigmentation as compared to pressed shadows but provide a softer wash of color (perfect for everyday use). I have tried using Amethyst in my crease as well as an all over lid shade. Mixed with a kohl liner, I love how subtle the look is. However it can be a mess to work with loose pigment. I would have liked for the product to contain a sifter but we all learn the hard way (I made a little of a mess initially).
A trick is to open the lid, turn the knob (i.e. holding the product together) and close the lid. Next, tilt the product over and tap it from the bottom. This allows minimal product to be dispensed and saves you the trouble of having to deal with product wastage. The little lid cover also serves as a mini palette holder.
Mineral eye shadows are great for beginners who are venturing into the world of eye shadows. If you are not a fan of purples, there are a ton of other color families to choose from on their website. I am planning to pick up their mineral sparkle shadows on my next order. I swatched them during the event and it blew my mind.
LIP GLAZE – PEANUT BUTTER, USD28
Home girl here loves her matte lip products and I have been staying away from glosses for the longest time. In 2016, this changed and I found myself reaching for more glosses – we are talking pigmented glosses. I began to love how they felt on the lips. The tacky after feel was there on the lips but it was nothing to major.
The Lip Glaze from Reflections Organics (14 shades to choose from) is just that. The consistencies of these Lip Glazes remind me of the Colourpop Ultra Glossy formula, only a tad bit heavier. They glide on smoothly. They are not overly long lasting but they give you a good 2-3 hour of wear with light drinking/eating. Touching up is relatively easy and the product does not clump upon reapplication. Even after the 3-hour mark, the shade leaves behind a gorgeous non-glossy stain.
The shade I am featuring here is Peanut Butter. It is a beautiful nude for belles of all skin tones, especially medium onwards. It gives just the right amount of warmth (pink and brown hues) to your lips. Since its formulated using a rich blend of shea butter and coconut oil, it gives off the appearance of luscious and hydrated lips, as seen below.
Here’s a full look created using the 3 products reviewed above. I layered Amethyst all over my lids and especially buffed it into the crease along with a taupe shadow. This helped to create some depth. It sure is a beautiful shade!
I am always looking out for the best deals for my readers and if you’re interested in purchasing these products or anything from their site feel free to use my discount code “ROPerin17” to save 10%. This is the best way for me to share the love (fret not, its not an affiliate code)! The code is valid till March 2017.
As always, I share honestly about what works and doesn’t. I may have received these 3 products as goodies but I believe the outcome speaks for itself. Organic makeup is slowly but surely making its mark in the beauty industry and I am glad to have discovered Reflections Organics – local pride indeed.
I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading this post. For more beauty confessions, feel free to follow me on Instagram at Littlemissconfessions.
Till the next entry, stay safe and fabulous

Reflections – Organic beauty with a difference (Event Invitation)
I was very excited to be at the launch of Reflections Organics Make-up last week held at Picnic (Wisma Atria). The event space was beautifully decorated with the Chinese New Year mood and it has an Eco garden feel. I don’t even feel like I am indoors.
About Reflections Organic Make-up:
They use 100% vegan and cruelty-free formulations, sans synthetics and parabens. With a diverse array of professional shades to choose from, Reflections hopes to challenge the stereotypes surrounding organic makeup by providing high-performing, pigmented quality that remains nourishing to skin. Believing that beauty begins within, Reflections wants to empower women by creating makeup that actually benefits and improves their skin.
You may notice that the logo for Reflections looked like a butterfly. This symbolizes the beauty of a women being transformed.
There were plenty of their products on display and I managed to lay my hands on some to try out the texture and smell the product.
There is a piece of good news to share with all of you as you have been my fellow supporters for quite awhile now. From now till 31 Mar 2017, quote “ROPearly17” to be entitled to 10% off all products on https://www.reflectionsorganics.com/.
The pressed eye shadow comes in various shades and they are highly pigmented, contrary to what others believe about organic makeup that they are light and non-pigmented.
These are their range of lip butter, which smells like cupcakes. They are vegan and gluten free, made with Jojoba, avocado and coconut oils. They almost seem edible.
Pressed Mineral Blush in Peach Tulip, Cherry Blossom and Water Lily.
Pressed Mineral Foundation of various shades.
Organic Liquid Foundation.
Lip Glaze that smelled amazing too. There were plenty of shades to choose from, ranging from the transparent, glittery, shades of pink, nude and reds.
There were plenty of food and drinks prepared for us. There were cakes, soup, sandwiches that we looked as if we were there for a food-tasting instead. They looked great even before we ate them.
Nerissa, founder of Reflections Organics shared with us the story behind Reflections as well as the myths of Organic make-up and the efforts of her charity work in contributing back to the society.
Let me share with you the 4 main reasons for choosing Organic make-up:
- Organic make-up not only beautifies you, it heals and improves your skin as you apply them, as the ingredients which they are made from nourishes your skin.
- The mineral make-up gives you sun protection as they contain titanium oxide, zinc oxide and iron oxide. These helps in lowering the risk from you getting skin cancer.
- Using Organic make-up protects our future generations as they do not contain harsh chemicals.
- Nourish the environment as ingredients are obtained from organic farms which are better for the plants, living creatures and human beings. It was followed by a beauty demonstration using Reflection Organic’s cosmetic with a day and night look done on Emilie Tan the vegan ultra-marathoner who is currently pregnant to show that organic make-up is safe for use on pregnant woman too.
Thanks to June’s creative idea, we had the opportunity to make our own dried flower mandala or dream catcher as some call this. It was very fun to put together these dried flowers and they look so artistic. We were also given a goodie bag before we left.
Thank you Boxgreen for the healthy fruit and nut snacks, Puvay for the chia lite collagen drink and Reflections Organics for the lovely goodie bag of make-up with the lovely peach box.
Let me share with you my thoughts after trying out the organic makeup, which I had received from Reflections. I have been playing with them for awhile now and I am looking forward to sharing with you a little more about them on a separate post.

Event: Media Launch of Reflections Organics @ Picnic SG
Jan 19th, 2017 at 12:23 PM
Last week was crazily busy for me but I was so glad to be able to squeeze out some time to attend the media launch of Reflections Organics @ Picnic SG.
I've been wanting to visit Picnic SG ever since my Instagram was flooded with pictures of the restaurant and the food posted by my fellow influencers. No thanks to them for enticing me!
Reflections Organics is an organic makeup brand that contains 90% USDA Certified Organic Premium active ingredients. It does not consist of any chemicals; is nanoparticle-free and does not test on animals.
Instead, the products are vegan, environmentally-friendly and are even formulated with ingredients that can be eaten. I guessed it's true that when a product has ingredients that are safe for consuming through the mouth, it should be even safer when applied onto your skin.
The brand also invests largely on the quality of the products rather than the packaging. In fact, their packaging is pretty simple and they use soy-based and food-grade ink for their labels!
I was also happy to catch up with Ms Nerissa Low who is the founder of Reflections Organics. I knew her long ago at a launch of her former skincare brand and it's great to see her looking good, doing well and moving on to a new organic makeup range.
I love the inspiration that came behind the name of the brand. The brand strives to empower ladies to remember how beautiful and powerful they actually are instead of being subjected to societal standards of beauty. This ties in closely with my own beliefs that you need to define the person that you are because if not, others will tell you who to be.
It's cool to have a brand that encourages ladies to pursue their own beauty through healthy ways by using safe and eco-conscious ingredients that can do their skin and the environment good in the long run. Ladies, let your beauty shine and never hide your wings!
We also watched a makeup demonstration and we learnt that not only are the products easy to use and look awesome on the skin, they are also safe for pregnant ladies.
Thumbs up for that!
I was very attracted to their lip butter range because their colours are sooo prettttyyy!!
They largely have pastel pinks and coral tones that are suitable for Asian skin as well as a few vibrant colours for a louder, party look. I also like the fact that the lip butters are very moisturizing too so you need not worry about chapped lips while wearing them.
They have lip glazes as well to complement the lip butters. Alternatively, you can wear the lip glazes on their own.
As many of the lip glazes are created using food such as berries, peach, grapefruit etc., they actually smell naturally good.
I know people don't normally sniff their lippies but for this brand, you've got to try it because these products are definitely worth a whiff.
Take this purple lip glaze named Pink Cupcake for example. It truly smells like a freshly baked cupcake. I'm not kidding!
If I can only choose 1 makeup product to own, I will at least own a foundation.
Foundations are the most essential makeup product for me but good foundations that suit your skin to a tee are hard to find. I was very happy to know that the brand stocks Organic Liquid Foundation with good blendability and coverage. If you're looking for a liquid foundation that contains ingredients, which are safe for the skin, do consider this!
Although I don't use powdered foundation, I know people who swear by powders rather than liquids for their base makeup. Mineral makeup was the rage years ago so if you're someone who prefers using mineral powdered foundation, Reflections Organics has a basketload of mineral foundations for your selection.
There are also multiple shades available for mineral powdered foundation so be prepared to be spoilt for choice!
Reflections Organics' camouflage creams are their concealers and they are stored in a form of a compact case with a mirror so that one can touch up on makeup and conceal imperfections on the go.
Personally, I felt that the camouflage creams work better as an undereye concealer or for concealing mild redness on the face. What I like about the camouflage cream is that it even brightens the undereye while concealing dark circles. In terms of concealing dark spots or pimple bumps, there's room for improvements!
Are these pressed eyeshadows gorgeous or what?!
I did some colour swatching and I loved how pigmented the eyeshadows are. I was also in love with the Purple Sapphire pressed eyeshadow. The colour and the glitter bits will certainly add sparkle to your eyes!
Reflections Organics stocks a large variety of eyeshadows so if you're an eyeshadow addict, you should certainly check the brand out. Besides pressed eyeshadows which I very much prefer, they also have A LOT of mineral eyeshadows, some with sparkles and some without. Go ahead to explore the eyeshadow range and I'm very sure you'll find an eyeshadow that you will like. I already found mine. :)
I don't wear mascara because I'm still a noob when it comes to applying this product. Nonetheless, for many of my friends, mascaras are a must for eye makeup. So there you have it - the Reflections Organics' Infinity Lash Mascara that comes with a big wand.
They have two colours in stock, the Black Tourmaline and the Brown Quartz and they retail at USD$28 each. Go try them!
Dinner was served by Picnic SG and it was a buffet spread of healthy salads, yummilicious baguettes as well as sandwiches.
Thank you Picnic SG for feeding us!
Holy mama, the cakes!!! They looked so Instagram-worthy that I really needed to snap a picture and put it on my Instagram. HA HA.
I shared the chocolate cake with blogger friend, Pearly and oh my, the chocolate was so rich and divine! Yums!
Warm soups for the soul, anyone?
I also shared one of the soups with Pearly because we were both full by then and couldn't stomach more so sharing is caring.
There was a fringe activity going on and we were encouraged to create our own floral mandala using dried leaves and flowers.
These leaves and flowers were all painstakingly pressed by fellow blogger, June so thank you girl for putting so much effort in organizing this fun-filled fringe activity!
For someone with zero artistic ability, I managed to create this masterpiece. LOL.
I was so proud of my work because I actually started off with no idea on how to create my floral mandala. The lazy me decided to arrange 3 large leaves first before filling the gaps with smaller flowers, petals and leaves. I didn't know that the result would be so pleasing to the eye. I also never expected to receive so many 'likes' and compliments from fellow friends! :D
At the end of the launch, I went home with a pink treasure trove containing 3 makeup products lovingly sponsored by Reflections Organics.
The 3 products are namely a Camouflage Cream in Magic, a Liquid Liner in Black Onyx and a Lip Butter in Sweet Plum. Coincidentally, they retail at USD$30 each!
I tested the products last week and was very impressed by their quality. I used the Camouflage Cream for my undereyes and wore the liquid liner as well as the lip butter for an event last week.
The liquid liner dries quickly and is truly smudge-proof and reliable. I could be sweaty under the sun but my eyeliner just wouldn't budge until I removed it with an eye makeup remover. The lip butter is my first mauve shade and I was worried that I would look odd wearing it but I ended up liking the look so much! I guessed it's because it's a very understated colour and doesn't make me look too dramatic. As bimbotic as this may sound, it also matches my hair colour. LOL.
In sum, I'm excited to add these 3 products to my makeup collection. I will continue using them because I love them so much!
Reflections Organics makeup products currently retail on their Official Website.
From now till March 2017, you can enjoy a 10% discount if you use my promo code 'ROTracy17' during checkout for all products on the website. Happy shopping!
